Hike at O'Neill Regional Park - Live Oak + Vista Trail
The hike we will be doing is approximately 5 miles with 870 ft. of elevation gain. We will begin at the Live Oak Trail trailhead. This is where you will see on the map that the Live Oak Trail hits the paved road, right off of the parking lot marked P. This is the parking lot closest to the Edna Spaulding Trail. (There should also be someone at the gate when you come in that can direct you where to go.) We will begin by going up Live Oak Trail. We will do that until we hit the Hoffman Homestead Trail, and we will continue on that. Once we hit Coyote Trail, we will turn left. We will continue onto the Coyote Canyon trail until we hit Live Oak Trail again, where we will turn right. We will take that up until Vista Trail. We will continue until Vista Trail ends and we will go back down Hoffman Homestead Trail. We will take that until it hits Live Oak Trail and turn left. This will take us back to where we started. Overall, this will be a moderate hike with more of the hills while we're on the Vista Trail. If you have any questions before the hike, please feel free to ask. Here is a link to the park map: http://ocparks.com/civicax/filebank/blobdload.aspx?BlobID=15694 The address is: 30892 Trabuco Canyon Rd. Trabuco Canyon, CA 9267 Dogs are not allowed on these trails. Parking is $5 unless you have the OC Parks Annual Pass.

What we're about

This group was created to gather like-minded people who share the same goals: challenge themselves, explore nature, and get fit doing it! The events will be covering a range of hikes from beginner trails, to more advanced so there will be a hike for everyone. The group is really focused on conquering some peaks and more difficult hikes, so if you're looking to challenge yourselves along with us, we welcome you! Our hikes will explore trails all over Southern California. We will do hikes in Orange County, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, San Diego, and more!

We have a very diverse group of people, ranging in all ages and from all different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. We are a very welcoming group, so please come and join us whether it's for a great hike or community.

Suggestions are always welcome on must-see trails and great places to explore.

If you enjoy Trail Mix and the hikes we go on, a donation would be very much appreciated to help cover annual organizational fees and for time donated to keep this group fun and active!
