Carpooling & Snow Pass
We strongly encourage carpooling due to limited parking at the lodge. Please post on this site if you can drive and have room in your car, typically passengers offer $5-$7 to the driver for gas and snow pass. All cars will need a snow pass. Snow passes are available for $5 at Otto’s Ski Shop in Sandy. Directions & Parking
For those who have not been to Tyee....from HWY 26 going through Government Camp, turn on Timberline Rd. If the road is "closed" by Timberline lodge employees, tell them you are going to Tyee. They will let you through. Go up about 1/4 mile to the first parking area you see on the right side of the road. Park there. Please take note of the “No Parking” signs, as you may be towed if you are parked outside of the official parking area, even if the area has been plowed. And we suggest that you leave over-length vehicles at home as they do not fit well in the parking area and have been marked for towing in the past. Look across the road close to where the parking area started. There is a rope and a trail. Go up the snowbank and follow the trail to the left. You can't miss it from there. 1/8 mile walk. Bring all your stuff.
Note: Once the parking lot at the lodge is full, you will need to use the parking lot at the bottom of the hill and walk up.
