Forest Park night hike to Pittock Mansion
Hosted by Trails Club of Oregon
Details
• What we'll do
Hike in the dark and rain! This will be about a 5 mile trek from Lower Macleay Park to the Pittock Mansion and back. We will leave at 5 pm, so please try to arrive a few minutes early.
This is a 5 mile hike with about 900 feet of elevation gain. My pace is about 2 to 2.5 miles per hour and I prefer to do this hike without a lot of stops until we get to the summit.
Dogs must be on leash. This hike is not appropriate for small children.

• What to bring
Bright a headlamp with good batteries and a backup light. (Your cell phone is not a light) Wear sturdy hiking boots for a wet and muddy trail. Dress for mud and rain and wear layers -- synthetics, silk or wool. No cotton please! We will take a short break at Pittock Mansion with time for a snack and water break.
• Important to know
The trail will be muddy and may be slick in places. Please wear boots or trail shoes with good tread.
