Transit Techies NYC makes its next stop. Doors will open at 6:30pm! We will have light refreshments and pizza. We'll do the normal dance of eat + mingle, listen + present, mingle + leave.
Abhijit Valluri will share how he pulled in MTA real-time arrivals into a personal transit app for his Garmin smartwatch.
Mallory Bulkley will demo her data visualization of Citibike trips taken in a single day, filtered by various rider demographics.
Scott Morris will present on the features of the MyMTA mobile app, which was recently launched as the official app of the MTA with real-time information across modes and agencies.
As always, we'll open the floor to announcements anyone might have.
One special announcement: Natalia Quintero will be coming by to tell us about the Transit Tech Lab, which currently has an open call for applications. Here's a quick blurb:
Can your startup leverage its technology to improve the subway and bus service in New York City? Apply to the Transit Tech Lab and your company could win a pilot with the MTA. This may include technology that leverages machine learning, develops predictive models, improves real-time customer communication and much more. Applications are due Nov. 30th.
