A State Bank for Maine?

Details

There are way too many holes in the bucket! Come hear Representative Diane Russell (D-Portland) speak about how a State Bank can help keep our money in Maine - money that can fund local business and reduce our taxes.

The people of North Dakota have such a bank and it has increased investment in the state and earned money from the interest income. Is this a good idea for Maine? We think so.

Ms. Russell will discuss:

• how a state bank works

• the bill she has introduced in the state legislature

• the nature of opposition of the large national banks, and what we can do to overcome that opposition
