What we're about

This Meetup will explore the ideas of prominent Transpersonal thinkers in the context of artificial intelligence and a coming “Age of Automation”. Following Abraham Maslow’s thinking, we will consider the potential of new and higher stages of creativity, transpersonal awareness, and “self-actualization” in the context of accelerating technological change.

Transpersonal psychology is a school of psychology that attempts to integrate the spiritual and existential aspects of human experience within the framework of modern psychology. The transpersonal is loosely associated with experiences that transcend the individual ego and relate to spiritual, mystical, or transcendental states of consciousness. Influences on Transpersonal psychology include the psychedelic movement, the psychological study of religion, parapsychology, and Eastern spiritual systems and practices. Prominent thinkers include William James, Carl Jung, Ken Wilber, and Abraham Maslow.
