Metro Hack Night VIII

Details
Metro Hack Night is a show & tell of Metro-related apps and data visualizations. We are happy to once again be hosted by WMATA in their headquarters (just past the lobby). Doors open at 6:00 (free food thanks to our sponsors), and the program kicks off at 6:30. (No drinks tonight, but vending machine is nearby.) Be sure to bring an ID, and please arrive a bit early, as everyone will have to have IDs checked and pass through the metal detectors.
Contact Michael (https://www.meetup.com/Transportation-Techies/members/10550542/) if you have coded a project about Metro(rail), using their API, open data sets, or any other data you can find. To build your own Metro apps, hacks, and visualizations, find WMATA's open data via PlanItMetro's data-download (http://planitmetro.com/tag/data-download/) tag, or use their developer tools (https://developer.wmata.com/).
Our speakers are:
Ⓜ️ Ben Shepherd: menu bar train status & running advisor app
Ⓜ️ James Pizzurro: MetroHero's new Saved Trips feature
Ⓜ️ Catherine Vanderwaart: modeling Metro data
Ⓜ️ James Collins: A new way to map Metro trains
Ⓜ️ Josh Tauberer: using WMATA API to get to work 4½ min faster
Ⓜ️ Ray Cha: visualizing data via transitdatatoolkit.com
Ⓜ️ Dustin Hennessy: wapo.st/dcrider
Many thanks to our sponsors at Mobility Lab and WMATA for making this meetup possible.
