What we're about

Travel and Culture Club in Omaha group is a gathering of great people who want culture, food, fun, and travel; learning about other cultures, trying new things, meeting people, maybe even bringing together some different languages - whether you’re from Nebraska, or abroad, an exchange student, traveling through for business or pleasure, or any other avenue, this is your group!

The mission of this group is to share stories, knowledge, and experiences and to create opportunities to share our love of our hometown with those who share our love of travel.

We’re looking for people with varying travel opinions and tastes – bringing people together, whether you’re an independent traveler, destination/resort vacationer, scuba diver, backpacker, snow-bird, couchsurfer, cruise line enthusiast, RV folks, or even people who want to explore more of Omaha/Nebraska and its surrounding areas, or simply to see a new restaurant once a month.

We are so much more than a travel group - you are invited to monthly travel meetups (first Sunday of every month, new venue each time) so we can all get to meet & know each other, explore different restaurants around Omaha, we will inform you of great travel deals & resources (domestic and international), fun local events, activities, networking, plus we’ll invite travel experts from different locations around the world! Currently booked are two experts who can give first-hand advice on over 40 different countries from around the world, as well experience with numerous US States and destinations within America.

On behalf of Travel & Culture Club in Omaha we look forward to meeting you soon!

Group Trip to Costa Rica! Aug 8-15, 2020

Needs a location

After doing a Travel & Culture Group survey on if our members want to take more group trips and where they’d like to go, the #1 picked destination was Costa Rica with a huge response of people wanting more group trips. So here it is! We're officially taking deposits for the Travel & Culture Group trip to Costa Rica, August 8-15, 2020 (only one week off work). This trip is OPEN to any friends, family, coworkers, etc. **We could only get 10 spots held since there’s VERY limited availability at the hotels, so this trip WILL sell out fast! The first 10 people who sign up and place $950 deposit are guaranteed** Costa Rica offers a dizzying variety of adventures; Rainforest hikes and or white-water rapids, or canopy zipline to a sun-dazed afternoon at the beach. On this trip the Travel & Culture Group travelers can glimpse life in both rainforest and cloud forest, simmering volcanoes offering otherworldly vistas, and beautiful beaches surrounded by jungle. Can’t decide? Don’t worry: we have 7 days to explore! ITINERARY: Aug 8 – Depart Omaha, NE (or departure city of choice). We’ll be greeted at the airport and have private transfers to our first destination, Manuel Antonio National Park. Our home for three nights is the Parador Resort & Spa, a jungle resort that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. It sits on 12-acres where you can hike and watch for wildlife, or enjoy the three pools, even relax at their spa. Plus there's a complimentary shuttle to the Manuel Antonio beach, just 10 minutes down the hill August 9 – Our included tour is a Dolphin Catamaran Cruise to search of dolphins, whales, sea turtles, manta rays of the Manuel Antonio Marine Preserve. Plus you’ll have the option to snorkel in the protected Biesanz Bay. Included is a feast of fresh fruits, grilled fish brochettes, pasta salad and drinks Aug 11 – Private transfers from Manuel Antonio National Park to our resort in La Fortuna, next to Volcano Arenal. This region is the capital of both Adventure and Hot Springs. Hotel Arenal Manoa is where we’ll call Home for the next 4 nights. This is a 27-acre property with 82 bungalows, plus a working dairy farm on property! Perhaps the best part is the hot spring pools fed by natural waters. And yes, there’s a spa, restaurant, and bar! August 12 – Our included tour is a private boat ride through the secluded tropical rainforest for a floating safari! Glide through the jungle channels encountering monkeys, sloths, iguanas, crocodiles and numerous tropical birds Aug 15 – Sadly this is the day we say goodbye to Costa Rica. We’ll board our private transfers back to the airport. After a short flight home, we arrive into Omaha that night.
