What we're about
Important: Please read through the entire description. This group is for enlightened, fun, caring women of all ages who have decided not to bear human offspring for any number of reasons. We'll celebrate the freedom and enrichment that being child-free brings to our lives, while respecting the vast diversity of lifestyle choices, including having children. Let's develop a safe, honest, supportive network, have insightful and expressive conversations, and get out and explore our bountiful area!
Regardless of your political leanings, (a)religious preferences, dietary and other health habits, sexual orientation, work status, age, education level, income level, nationality, ethnicity, physical abilities, etc, your presence is appreciated and respected. This is an inclusive group that promotes kindness and fairness. My hope is that we can make some quality, lasting friendships through this group, and not have to worry about children's or grandchildren's schedules. :-)
Please note that if you have physical/mobility challenges: (1) You will need to contact the event venue to ensure that it is ADA-compliant and/or that your needs will be met by the venue, and you will need to determine whether you will be able to safely, comfortably, and independently** participate in the event. (2) Please let the event organizer know in advance that you have ensured that your needs are met. (3) **Bring an assistant (person or certified animal) with you to the "+1" events as needed, as the event organizer(s) and other event attendees may not be able to provide you with the appropriate assistance.**
Here are some examples of activities/places I'll be planning for us: foodie restaurants, relaxing with coffee/tea/wine/beverages of choice, museums, hiking, bowling, yoga, volleyball, tennis, tubing, sledding, spa treatments, taking craft classes, doing arts and crafts, plays/theater, ballet, movies, book club-type discussions, comedy shows, concerts, hanging out and chatting.
For any posted events that require a ticket purchase, please purchase your ticket AS SOON as you know you want to attend, as waiting can result in tickets selling out. Some events sell out very rapidly!
In deciding whether to attend an event, kindly read the entire event description and click on embedded links for further info. Answers to many questions can be found in the event descriptions. I strive to put as many helpful details as I can obtain when I post an event, or soon thereafter. Sometimes the folks at the venue have limited info themselves and/or some info may be unknown/indeterminate in advance. Since I'm new to the area, I don't always know exactly what to expect at various events and venues.
I ask that you please honor your "Yes" RSVPs or change them to "No" (no explanation necessary unless you want to post a note or message me privately) at least 2 hours before the start time of the event. That'll allow for smoother attendance tracking/reservations and help avoid confusion! If you're running late to any events, that's often ok; please just text or call me in advance at 408-375-5006, or if one of our co-organizers is managing the event, please contact them and follow the details in their event postings. Keep in mind that it's often loud with a lot going on, and it may be challenging for the organizer to respond quickly to your message right before or during an event. Thank you in advance!
