What we're about

A unique adventure group fun for those 25- 125!

We are dedicated to outdoor activities combined with good beer/wine and good food. Join us on our weekend outings of hiking, snowshoeing, x-country skiing, kayaking, biking, horsebackriding, etc.. Share your favorite wine, cheese, snacks with energetic friends who like to "earn" the calories we so enjoy! These are NOT hard-core, survivalist elite level sporting events, but you do need to be in decent physical condition and bring your own equipment (and wine and foods to share of course!)

Due to the nature of our outings, minimum age to attend a Trekking Gourmets Event is 25 Years Old.

Please Note DOGS are welcome only with permission of the group organizer/ event host prior to the event.

Trekking Gourmets welcome folks of all ability levels, but please be in adequate physical shape to join us on our outdoor outings.

Membership agreement, details and fine print:

TREKKING GOURMETS CODE OF CONDUCT AND DISCLAIMER: In order to participate in any Trekking Gourmets activity, you acknowledge and agree that this activity involves inherent risks that can cause property damage, injury, illness, disability, and/or death to participants and/or others. * You assume all risk associated with this activity. * You are responsible for having the necessary knowledge, skills, abilities, clothing, and equipment to safely participate in this activity. * In the event of a hiking event, you know and will follow the Hiker Responsibility Code described at hikesafe.com. * You release, hold harmless, and indemnify the leader(s) and all members of this group on the hike and others in the group from any and all claims for property damage, injury, illness, disability, and/or death - including those caused by negligence and/or other reasons. * The description of the event may contain some errors. You acknowledge that this description is only a guide. * In the event of a hike, labels of "beginner", "intermediate", and "advance" are subjective and depend on the experience of the hiker. Distance and elevation gained are only approximate. GPS coordinates are approximate, best viewed using Google Maps. Car, cell phone, and handheld GPS'es vary in accuracy and may not correspond to the meetup location. * The equipment list is a requirement for participation. If you do not have the required gear, you may not be able to participate. * If you sign up for the event, but change your mind, you must update your RSVP to NO. If you do not attend, or do not hike with the group (either late or by hiking faster than the group), your attendance may be marked as absent. If you are a no-show three times, without adequate reason, you may be removed from the Trekking Gourmets Meetup group. * Many events will involve the consumption of beer/wine/ alcoholic beverages. Excessive consumption of alcohol resulting in unruly behavior will be cause for immediate banned status from the Trekking Gourmets Group.

*Our group's theme is exercise followed by gourmet meal. Please be prepared to join us for both activities. Joining for the "Trekking" portion but not the "Gourmet" portion of the outing, or vice-versa, is not allowed by your organizer team, so please be prepared to join us for the entire event when you RSVP "Yes". (In certain circumstances due to venue capacity we might break events into a part 1 and a part 2, which negates this rule at the event organizer's discretion)

The Trekking Gourmets is intended to be a fun Meetup Group for all members. Members join the group freely and can cancel membership at any time. Conversely, membership may be cancelled at anytime at the discretion of the organizers with no recourse.

The Trekking Gourmets is YOUR Meetup Group!

Suggestions for events are invited and encouraged, and all members are eligible to act as Event Host for the Trekking Gourmets after attending 3 events, and with the approval of Trekking Gourmets organizers.

Please do not come to this hike if you do not have microspikes. It will be very icy. I want to see the upper falls under ice. Last winter we did not make it all the way.
