NOTE early start time.
After the hike there is an option to swim at the Highlands Pool, a unique, spring fed pool, located next to the parking lot, with annual membership as well as daily guest passes: https://www.highlandsnaturalpool.org/visit.html. We’d like to complete the hike early enough so that we can enjoy an afternoon at the pool: “Olympic-sized, stream-fed freshwater swimming pool is located in a wooded setting adjacent to the 5,400-acre Norvin Green State Forest in Ringwood, NJ. No chemicals are used in the pool.” The hiking is moderately strenuous, hilly with great views. Boots required. Bring water, lunch. You can leave any swim or afternoon picnic gear in your car. Rain cancels.
