Category Theory and Computer Programs
Details
"Category Theory and Computer Programs"
Format: Talk, 1 hour.
Speaker: Justin Grimes
Topics: Category Theory, Clojure, Haskell, Programming Languages, The Future of Programming
-----
When are programs and the abstractions we create composable? Looking at programming through the lens of Category Theory provides some useful answers. Category Theory is a language for talking about mathematical structures and their similarities.
In this talk, we'll look at what Category Theory is, why it arises naturally in programming, and how we can apply it when designing applications and libraries.
There will be code examples in Clojure and Haskell throughout.
---
This event will be held at Adzerk, 501 Washington St, Suite D, Durham, NC 27701.
Pizza and beverages will be provided.
