This is a group for anyone interested in reading and discussing peaceful/authentic/RIE/respectful parenting style books. I have a 3.5 year old and a 1.5 year old and have been practicing peaceful parenting techniques for about 3 years (with lots of failures everyday!). I've read my share of books on the topic but feel like I often forget what I read and don't get to put it into practice. Hoping to find others who are passionate about peaceful parenting and grow together in this very difficult and amazing journey.
I will post a book that we will be discussing each month. Please purchase the book or borrow it from the library and read it before the meeting so we can discuss the contents.
I read this book a few years ago when my oldest was one and loved it but put in on the shelf as something that would be applicable when my kids were a bit older. I feel like with my now 4.5 year old this book has some valuable insight especially on our role as parents and how to develop a relationship with your child that will last through the teenage years and beyond. A respectfulparent.com online book club popped up on my Facebook feed a few weeks ago and I figured it was time I reread the book and joined the online book club too. Here is a link to the book club. It starts on Jan 7 and ends at the end of Feb. hence the meetup date. Would love some company and look forward to sharing some insights on Feb 22nd!
