Early blockchain innovations and advances in quantum computing (and the threats to known cryptographic methods those advances represent) focus investors toward one critical question: "How will blockchain solutions be governed?" As we know, many blockchain enthusiasts advocate strongly that blockchain does not require governance. Where is the truth? What is the future?
A local Triangle resident, Jeffrey Ritter, is a visiting fellow at Oxford and teaches the graduate level software engineering course on Information Governance (https://www.cs.ox.ac.uk/softeng/subjects/BIG.html) in the renowned Department of Computer Science. His long career in legally enabling disruptive information technologies (including leadership positions at the United Nations, the American Bar Association, and a thought leader for the Cloud Security Alliance) serves as the foundation for his current research on adapting quantum mathematics to inform and define the first principles of "quantum law".
Join us as Jeffrey shares with us his insights on governing blockchains and welcomes us into what will surely be a provocative discussion. As Peter Sand, the Executive Director of Privacy, MGM Resorts International, said of Jeffrey's recent book (https://www.amazon.com/Achieving-Digital-Trust-Rules-Business/dp/0996599002/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1497113612&sr=8-1&keywords=Achieving+Digital+Trust): "I don't know why Jeffrey came back from the future to teach us how to adapt to what's coming, but he did, and I am grateful."
