Book Club: The Practice of Lojong
This will be the 3rd meeting to discuss the book "The Practice of Lojong: Cultivating Compassion through Training the Mind" by Traleg Kyabgon. Since the second meet up was cancelled, we will be discussing points 3-9. The goal is to share thoughts and ideas about the reading as well as how you might be cultivating this practice. All are welcome but it's helpful if you've done the reading :) This is the book: https://www.amazon.com/Practice-Lojong-Cultivating-Compassion-Training/dp/1590303784/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1531399678&sr=8-1&keywords=lojong There is also an audiobook version if you prefer! What we're about

Hellooo Sangha!

One of the warmest, sweetest Buddhist experiences I've had in Northern California was going to Dharma talks and tea gatherings at the Zen Center Green Gulch in Muir Beach. But also my wife and I had a wonderful ritual of driving to Dhyana Hall in Pt. Richmond, CA to hear the brilliant and charismatic Anam Thubten speak. Both these experiences were wonderful rituals and spiritually inspirational. So why not try it here and share that joy with our group? So here is the plan.

At our house we can seat about 10 people. We have a large living room with a cathedral ceiling, comfortable seating, and a big screen TV to watch Dharma videos. Most of our meeting include a meditation of some kind, guided or unguided, and also a Buddhist talk by an inspirational speaker like Anam Thubten or Pema Chodron. But the most important part of our group is you! You drive which direction we go. You tell us what you prefer to do. You help us build the Sangha you really want. So far we have had tremendous success. Our members seem to be really happy. Participation is way up. And hosting these wonderful evets makes Michele and I very happy. Thanks to you, we have more of a sense of purpose. And a feeling of connectedness to the people we care about. Thank you for all your wonderful participation. And we look forward to lots more>

With Much Metta,
Andrew and Michele
