What we're about

This meetup is for anyone who is new to the area or just looking to expand that circle of friends. We are working to become a group that you can rely on to meet new people, try new things and experience Raleigh all while laughing and connecting with like-minded people. Our intent is to make this a fun place with diverse meetups so everyone can find something that interests them. Feel free to message one of your organizers if there's a particular event or adventure you'd like to see or if you'd like to become an event host! Always be mindful of the commitments you make with your RSVPs so that we are able to accommodate accordingly, but most of, let's have FUN!

Not only I’m looking for people who likes to have fun but people who likes to stay fit or get fit. That’s whether you’re into running powerlifting CrossFit or other physical activities

Feel free to get connected with my running groups to stay fit

MEETUP IS FAMILY This group is judgement and cliquey free and for members that are serious about attending events to meet the members of the group. We must have complete trust in one another and be willing to accept everyone. The goal is to be able to be friends outside of meetup as well. MEETUP IS NOT FACEBOOK Let's remember to be respectful to one another especially when we RSVP for a event. I doubt that anyone likes to wait for members who are not going to show up so please be mindful and change your RSVP or contact the host if there's a number you can reach them. I'm allowing everyone to host events based on their interest so everyone will get to be a organizer. Three no shows will get a member removed unless the host finds the excuse acceptable. Stuff like car breaking down emergencies where you can't contact the host etc will be acceptable. Please make sure let the host know early in advance if you change your RSVP. Trying to wait 30 minutes or less before the event starts or after the event starts will be considered a no show unless an emergency comes up. The host events would more likely be at the destination waiting for you by then. If you can't find the group contact the host regardless on how big or small the event is. Sometimes the host just wants you to stop by to say hi. We wouldn't stand up a real life friend date boss or doctor so let's treat the meetup host the same way. And make sure to pay attention to the details of the event so you can know what's going on and how to find everyone. After 6 months of not attending any events since you signed up you will be removed and be allowed to return when you can commit to attending the events. There's no point of being part of a Meetup group if you're not going to attend any events. The idea is to meet people that's why it's called Meetup and I'm allowing everyone to host events based on their interest. Whether or not you’re actually interested in the upcoming event or not it’s a good idea to try to attend anyways if possible just so you can get to meet the hosts and the other members attending the events. That also includes merging with another Meetup event. Any report of members being mean or not being accepting will lead to a permanent dismissal of the group. Feel free to report to me immediately if a host or a member been disrespectful or don't make you feel accepted and I will see to it that something gets done about it. Make sure to save my number. People are welcome to contact me anytime to say hello or to ask me questions about events or concerns and can find me on facebook under Anthony Earl Williams.

We will be doing a lot of Meetup events with the Triangle 30/40/and Mid 50s group

Mother’s Day 5k Run/Walk

Brooks Street

Hey would anyone be up for joining me for the Mother’s Day 5k Run/Walk? I hope you can make it. Let’s all attend in honoring all our mothers. If you’re a mother this event is definitely for you. [masked] Event Overview Why Run on Mother's Day? Why not?! What better way to celebrate your mother (or the woman or women in your life) than by running alongside her, in honor of her, in memory of her or just because you feel like running. Husbands, sons, daughters, aunts, uncles, mothers, fathers, in-laws and all family members are invited to run in this celebratory run! At the same time you will be helping to raise money for 1 of Us - a local women's cancer charity that provides financial assistance to women fighting cancer - to help someone else's mother. Did we mention that all runners will be greeted at the finish line with a special SWEET TREAT? (Will it be a cookie? A donut? Chocolate? A brownie? -- We will let you know soon!) Check the News page for the latest updates and announcements. Join us Sunday, May 12, 2019 (start time 8:00am) Come to Wake Forest to run or walk through the downtown streets to get energized and to work up an appetite before heading back home to whip up those pancakes for your mother. Or better yet, decide which restaurant in Wake Forest you can take her to where everyone can rest after the fun morning. The event is stroller-friendly and pet-friendly (pets on leashes) so don't worry about getting a babysitter or dogsitter - we don't want anyone in the family left behind! Special Recognition All mothers will be recognized with a special bib for this run. If you want to be celebrated as a mother, make sure to check the "Yes, I am a Mother" box during registration. In addition, all women cancer survivors will receive a discount for participation in this run and for letting everyone celebrate you as a SURVIVOR! Email Nancy at [masked] before registering so you can receive your special registration code. Course Description This is a 5k course run entirely on the streets of Wake Forest. There will be a water station around the first mile marker that you can also stop at a second time on the out-and-back course. All registered runners will receive official times, and are eligible for awards. Check out the course information here.
