How did you become interested in philosophy?

I guess I've always been a sort of "meaning of life" ponderer, and I got totally hooked after seeing Ven. Robina Courtin give a talk on "The Wisdom of Emptiness" four years ago.

Can you summarize your philosophical outlook in 50 words or less?

Happiness is recognizing interdependence and cherishing others.

What topics interest you the most?

Although most of my learning is focused on Buddhist philosophy, I'm also interested in many related topics like the origins of morality and ethics, the psychology of religion, and the free thinking movement.

Hello! I've been studying Buddhist philosophy for the last few years at the Kadampa Center in Raleigh, attending Discovering Buddhism classes (http://www.kadamp...) and the teachings each summer by Ven. Robina Courtin.

What John C. is saying about this Meetup Group

Great system of debate guides and convention of splitting up into smaller tables and then summarizing each table's discussions at the end.
