Come join us at Bond Park for a great afternoon of food, fun and park activities including boat rentals, walking trails, and greenways. Fred G. Bond Metro Park, at 310 acres, is one of the largest municipal parks in Wake County. Like an oasis in the midst of the city, the park design preserves the environment and offers opportunities for many types of recreation.
Please bring a vegan picnic-friendly dish (w/serving utensil) to share and reusable plates & silverware for your group. A grill is available – if you think you might like to use it, please comment below and we can coordinate charcoal & barbeque implements.
We will eat at noon and then have the rest of the afternoon to socialize and make use of Bond Park’s ample facilities. If you would like to walk off some of that lunch, there is a great 2 mile wooded trail that goes around Bond Lake. Highly recommended, so bring comfortable shoes! Like the water? There are paddle boats, sailboats, kayaks, canoes and rowboats available to rent by the half or full hour. If you just want to hang out in the shade at the picnic shelter, consider bringing some playing cards or other games. This event is very kid & dog friendly!

Cost will be $1/person (collected at the event) to offset the $80 picnic shelter rental. Anita has generously paid for the shelter so please remember to bring a buck or two help with the cost.
Hope to see you there!
