NoSQL Design Patterns for Serverless

Details

Abstract: When used properly, scalable NoSQL datastores like DynamoDB can be a perfect fit for serverless applications. But especially if you come from the world of relational databases, NoSQL can be a deceptively user-friendly guide into madness. In this hands-on session, AWS Serverless Hero Forrest Brazeal will cover NoSQL use cases, model relational data in DynamoDB, and answer the most important question of all: is any of this a good idea when relational databases are still right over there?

Bio: Forrest Brazeal is a senior cloud architect at Trek10, an AWS Advanced Consulting Partner. An AWS Serverless Hero, Forrest hosts the "Think FaaS" podcast and interviews the top names in cloud for his “Serverless Superheroes” series at A Cloud Guru. He holds a master’s degree in computer science from Georgia Tech and is an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.

The IBM Campus entrance is at the corner of East Cornwallis and Miami Blvd. Once you are in the IBM Campus please follow the sign for IBM Software Group Main Lobby 500, which will eventually point you to take turn on an internal street called Development Lane (Development Lane is a 3rd left turn from the campus entrance in case you miss any sign). Once you are on Development Lane, you should see parking lot and entrance to the building 500. We will have someone in the building lobby to escort you.
