What we’re about
Tucson Ukulele Uprising (TUKU) (formerly known as Tucson Ukulele Meetup) is a member-run, not-for-profit community music club whose goal is to bring together interested adults for playing ukulele and SINGING for personal enjoyment. All ukuleles are welcome; soprano, concert, tenor, baritone, guitarlele, and banjolele. Bass instruments, such as the U-Bass, double-bass, cello, and bass guitar are also welcome. We share our ukulele knowledge and have fun playing and singing all kinds of music (pop, blues, folk, bluegrass, country, gospel, rock, soul). Ukulele beginners are welcome. Likewise, SINGERS ARE MOST WELCOME TO JOIN US WITH OR WITHOUT UKULELES. Annual membership dues are $25 per year, payable to the organizers at the meetings.

- Sunday Ukulele Meetup: Dec 3 at 1:30 pmHighland Quad, Tucson, AZ
Sunday Dec 3 meetup will be at 1:30 pm at our usual location at Highland Quad at the UA. Srin & Greer will host. Bring a chair & a music stand (or something to put your music on).
Reminder: It is a shady spot - bring warm clothes.
While public WiFi is technically available at UA, the security checks are a pain. ***We strongly suggest downloading or printing out the songs before coming.
*** PLEASE NOTE: When downloading songs from DropBox, ensure that you “duplicate” - not “move” them!!***
It's easy to park close and find the Quad, but it can be a little confusing the first time, so here are detailed instructions. You want to park (free) in the "6th Street Garage." You can map to the garage. The easiest way is to proceed on 6th St. till you reach Park, turn north on Park, then take an immediate right onto Lowell St. You will see entrances to the parking garage on the right.
Walk out the east side of the garage, across the road, and either around the complex or through the pedestrian walkway. We are in the area by the fountain, just outside the Campus Health center. It is about a 2 minute walk from the east side of the parking structure.
Thanks to Patty & Jay for the song list this week!

- TUKU Vocal WorkshopMurphy-Wilmot Branch Library, Tucson, AZ
Join us Saturday, January 27 at Murphy-Wilmot Library at 2:00 pm for a TUKU Vocal Workshop with Molly Jean Gerbi. We will be in the large meeting room, immediately to your right as you walk into the library.
Admit it, we all sing in the shower or in our cars. We all sing! We can also to learn to sing in public with confidence! This workshop will help you explore your personal singing range and be more sure of yourself when singing in ensemble. Molly Jean will help you find your inner voice and make it your outer voice.
Bring your uke and a music stand (I don’t think we will be playing our ukes much, but we can’t help ourselves). Bring water. Chairs will be provided. This workshop is being provided free of charge by TUKU but we will have the coffee can out for optional additional contributions for the instructor.
Molly Jean is a lifelong Sweet Adeline (women’s barbershop) and a member of the International Sweet Adelines current second-place winning Scottsdale Chorus. Google them! (And be thankful that TUKU isn’t asking you to do choreography while you are playing.)
