What we’re about
Tucson Ukulele Uprising (TUKU) (formerly known as Tucson Ukulele Meetup) is a member-run, not-for-profit community music club whose goal is to bring together interested adults for playing ukulele and SINGING for personal enjoyment. All ukuleles are welcome; soprano, concert, tenor, baritone, guitarlele, and banjolele. Bass instruments, such as the U-Bass, double-bass, cello, and bass guitar are also welcome. We share our ukulele knowledge and have fun playing and singing all kinds of music (pop, blues, folk, bluegrass, country, gospel, rock, soul). Ukulele beginners are welcome. Likewise, SINGERS ARE MOST WELCOME TO JOIN US WITH OR WITHOUT UKULELES. Annual membership dues are $25 per year, payable to the organizers at the meetings.

Your Cheatin' Heart - NOTE TIME CHANGE! Sunday Ukulele Meetup: May 5 at 9:00 AMHighland Quad, Tucson, AZ
We are doing our seasonal switch to morning hours! TUKU will meet on Sun, May 5 at 9:00 AM at our usual location at Highland Quad at the UA. Greer & Connie will host. Bring a chair & a music stand (or something to put your music on.
Also, time to pay dues ($25)!
*PLEASE CHECK MEETUP ON SAT NIGHT TO CHECK FOR CANCELLATION OR LOCATION CHANGE (due to weather)!
While public WiFi is technically available at UA, the security checks are a pain. ***We strongly suggest downloading or printing out the songs before coming.
*** PLEASE NOTE: When downloading songs from DropBox, ensure that you “duplicate” - not “move” them!!***
It's easy to park close and find the Quad, but it can be a little confusing the first time, so here are detailed instructions. You want to park (free) in the "6th Street Garage." You can map to the garage. The easiest way is to proceed on 6th St. till you reach Park, turn north on Park, then take an immediate right onto Lowell St. You will see entrances to the parking garage on the right.
Walk out the east side of the garage, across the road, and either around the complex or through the pedestrian walkway. We are in the area by the fountain, just outside the Campus Health center. It is about a 2 minute walk from the east side of the parking structure.
We have a new system to handle the song list. Each week's songs will be copied to a separate folder called "THIS WEEK," and we will post the link for that folder.
Song list & link will be posted soon.
(If you want a link to the whole "TUKU Songs" folder with 400+ songs, here it is. But make sure you use the THIS WEEK link above the song list instead, if you want the songs we're actually playing in their proper keys.)
