There's a plugin for that but does it need to be? Whether it's performance or conflicts having too many can cause a lot of issues; with a few examples this talk will show a couple of simple ways to remove and replace plugins with your own stripped down code fully integrated with your theme to help stop these issues from arising.
Aimed primarily at developers this talk gets you thinking about when to use a plugin or when a plugin is simply overkill. With examples varying from the simple to the complex this talk isn't about giving instruction - although there are snippets - but to get you thinking about making your next project better.
The WordPress Meetup is hosted at The House, a co-working space for creative businesses in the centre of Tunbridge Wells. Nearest parking is Crescent Road which is free on a Thursday evening - http://www.tunbridgewells.gov.uk/residents/parking-travel-and-streets/car-parks/car-parks/crescent-road.
