Since being introduced in 2014, Material has seen broad success both inside and outside of the company, particularly among smaller teams who lack their own design resources. dave carlsson, a technical lead and engineering manager on the Material Design team at Google, will discuss the engineering side of Material for Android.
The talk will cover what it’s like to build a design system at Google, the importance of good app user experience, and why it’s so hard to build a button. dave will also discuss Open Source at Google, how to work with your designers, and some of where Android and Material Design may be going next.
