Discuss PART I of "Crucial Conversations" (3rd Edition) by Joseph Grenny et al., With Us (beginning to p.104)
Have you ever been in a heated or tense conversation that had far reaching and long lasting repercussions for you? Wish it had gone better? If you could do it all over again what would you do differently? How confident are you that it would work?
When opinions differ and the stakes are high, emotions can run strong. That's when a casual conversation can turn CRUCIAL.
Agility demands respect, openness and clear communication- even (and especially) when opinions differ. The stakes of a crucial conversation can be as high as our jobs, our future prospects, or our good image. In some cases (e.g. medical software), the team decisions we make might literally determine if people live or die.
So how do we ensure the best possible outcomes when in a crucial conversation? Read with us and discuss. Please note we'll be reading the 3rd edition for this meetup. We hope you'll join us.

Do you have a long backlog of books you want to read, but never seem to find the time? Join us- and let our mutual accountability help you get started.
Do you want to share what you’ve learned, and enrich that learning by hearing others’ perspectives? Come and be a part of our book club.
Do you want to strengthen your network through meaningful, focused, fun conversation? Let’s talk books!
HOW IT WORKS:
We meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month. At each session, we’ll discuss a few sections of the current book, until we’ve gone through the whole book. Once we’ve finished, we’ll move on to another book.
As you read, note down the following 3 impressions from each section to share:
The “Aha”: Something that clicked, or that was surprising or interesting.
The “Uh-oh”: Something that makes you feel uncomfortable
The “What now?”: What can you do right away with this? / What will you do differently?
