  • Monday Funday - Bouldering at MBP
Join me Monday to meet other TCRC Meetup climbers, do some bouldering, then grab food and/or drink at Pryes Brewing Company (located in the same building as MBP). If you RSVP prior to 6pm on Monday and are not already a member, you will be offered the discounted admission price of $12 and free rental shoes. On the day of the event, tell the front desk staff that you are on the Meetup list and they will adjust the cost of your day pass. This event is open to climbers of all levels. We will do a meet and greet in the lobby between 6:00-6:15pm, then get out and climb together. I will be available to help anyone who would like some guidance at MBP or with bouldering in general. If you arrive after 6:15, ask someone at the front desk to point you towards Sean. We can climb for 2-3 hours and head to Pryes next door. They serve beer (and fresh made sodas) until 10pm on Mondays and the kitchen closes at 9. So, plan accordingly. If you are not interested in Pryes, MBP offers an 8:15 candlelight Vinyasa I class, has saunas and showers, and stays open until 11pm! First time visitors can read about hours and rates here: https://minneapolisboulderingproject.com/hoursrates/ And, can save time by filling out your waiver here: https://www.smartwaiver.com/w/59f3b44894810/web/ Full disclosure: I work at MBP!

  • Adventure Film Festival
This is a community event, not sponsored by TCRC Meetup. Use this event page to make plans with other TCRC climbers and enjoy the film festival! ****** Facebook event: https://www.facebook.com/events/730457473974559/ Website: http://adventurefilm.org/ Trailer: https://vimeo.com/290893087 Adventure Film started in 2003 as a dream in the heart of the Himalayas. In a tent during a storm, on a handful of scratch paper, the late Jonny Copp sketched out the vision of a community-based, mission oriented, outdoor adventure film festival that tied indie film with art and activism. Today, Jonny’s spirit lives on in a festival that has reached over 100,000 people with a World Tour traveling from Boulder to Bozeman, Israel to Chile, and many cities in between. Adventure Film is supported by the Jonny Copp Foundation, a 501c3 made possible with the support of filmmakers, sponsors, non-profits, volunteers—and our ever-growing community. The Riverview Theater features state-of-the-art projection and sound systems within a beautiful 1950s style theater. Enjoy the opportunity to "step back in time" and experience classic movie-going as it was decades ago. The theater showcases everything from Hollywood's biggest blockbusters to niche art films on new, comfortable high-backed rocker seats. Come early to relax and enjoy the mod couches and chairs in the spacious lobby. Prices are are kept low for everyone to enjoy the theater!

  • Intro to MNCC - Bouldering at Minnesota Climbing Cooperative
The Minnesota Climbing Coop is a small, volunteer run bouldering gym in NE Minneapolis. MNCC has recently done a huge remodel and is back open for business. Many of the walls have been rebuilt and it now has seamless padding across the entire climbing area! Join me for the return of Intro to MNCC, a once a month TCRC Meetup event. Entry to MNCC is $10 cash or $11 credit. Bring shoes and chalk. If you are new to bouldering, or climbing in general, I will help you find things to climb and give you any amount of help you would like. If you are an experienced climber, you'll love this space! Make new friends, bring old friends, climb, hang out, and be merry. If people are interested, we can hang out for food and drink when the climbing ends. There is an abundance of places to eat and drink nearby. RSVP or show up anytime between 6:30-8 to join the fun. If no one shows by 8, I'll consider ending my night early. **IMPORTANT NOTE: The address of the coop takes you to a door on Central Ave. You do not want to go there. The entry to the coop is off of 18th Ave NE near Quincy St. Visit the MNCC website for detailed directions: http://www.mnclimbingcoop.com/location The picture at the bottom of the link above shows the door you want to enter through. Then, you turn left down the hall and the coop is the door next to the giant scale in the hallway.
