I've updated this Meetup. For more details, see the full listing:

When: Thursday, May 20,[masked]:00 PM

Riverview Theater
[masked]nd Ave S
Minneapolis, MN 55406

I was talking with Glenn last night, current head of MCA (Minnesota Climbing Association); it will take 100 attendees for the MCA to break even on this event - they have already paid for the movie and the use of the Riverview Theater.

PLEASE ATTEND THIS EVENT. You will get to see amazing feats of climbing and benefit your own climbing endeavors.

The MCA is a non-profit organization that does nothing but help us keep climbing outside. They interact with park services, clean up climbing areas, fix broken bolts and anchors and generally maintain what most of us take for granted.

And, it's not just rock climbers. Glenn has recently made an arrangement with the park managers at Robinson Park to install water pipes to create ice climbing at the Sandstone climbing area.

At Shovel Point and Palisade Head in the North Shore, the MCA is responsible for the enormous ground bolts now available on several climbs. (http://www.facebook.c...)

At Red Wing, the MCA cleans and rebolts routes and upgrade old anchors.

The MCA website, http://www.mnclimbing..., has also just added a map of MN crags that link to Mountain Projects website and will soon offer a recommended list of gear for each climbing site. (

So please, RSVP yes for this event. Buy your ticket. Watch a movie. And help support the group behind our incredible Minnesota climbing community.

Thank you!

If the changes affect your plans to attend, please take a moment to update your RSVP. (You can RSVP "No" or "Maybe" as well as "Yes".)
