We’re excited to invite English-speaking students from Bachelor’s to PhD levels across the European Union to participate in this exhilarating event. This is your chance to compete towards a 20,000€ prize pool and be at the forefront of innovation.
Theme: Energy Optimization
The Challenge:
The competition includes three key challenges:- Operation Optimization: Maximize revenue by designing the smartest charge/discharge strategy using market prices and ancillary services like FCR and aFRR.
- Investment Optimization: Determine which EU countries offer the highest ROI for utility-scale BESS over a 10-year horizon.
- Bonus Challenge: Push further with additional layers of system-level optimization.

English-speaking students from across the European Union are invited to participate in the Nuremberg Tech Arena. Whether you’re a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD student, this is your opportunity to put your skills to the test and demonstrate what you’re capable of.Form teams of 1-3 members. If you're a Bachelor's student, we highly recommend joining a team with Master's or PhD students for a more enriching experience. However, if you're confident in taking on the challenge alone, we fully support your decision.
