October meetup - Docker and R

We're very excited to announce our next event, which will be held on Wednesday October 24 from 5:30-7:00PM. The meetup will feature a presentation by Neal Magee on Docker and its applications with regard to R. Docker is a program that allows for isolation of software in "containerized" environments. Neal is a Cloud Solution Architect with School of Medicine Research Computing, and he uses Docker in a variety of ways to support scientific computing projects. His talk will introduce concepts of how and why one might use Docker containers, specifically in the context of R programming.

The folks at the UVa Data Science Institute (DSI) have generously offered to host us in their Dell 1 space. Snacks will be provided!
