Mini hackathon: How might we empower survivors of abuse to thrive post-crisis, through narratives of empowerment?
UX for Change has joined forces with Lesley Sackey, GB Gold Medalist Boxer and founder of Fight Forward, to develop a digital product called Pillow. Pillow's mission is to support women who have lived through domestic abuse and are now on their journey to getting their lives back.
For the last few months, the UX for Change fellowship cohort team has been researching the problem area and gaining insights from survivors that are now thriving.
We are now ready to kick off the next phase of the process: creative concepting, and are excited to start generating fresh ideas with your help!
In the workshop you will learn about responsible and trauma-informed design practices, hear about the knowledge gained so far and have the opportunity to develop creative responses to Pillow's core problem statements. The ideas that the teams generate will inspire and inform Lesley and the team as development of Pillow continues.
Given the delicate nature of the challenge, we will select the right amount of expertise and levels for each group (all levels are welcome). Therefore, please register your interest in participating in this event by RSVPing. The UX for Change Team will then send you a questionnaire, and if you are a good match, we will invite you to purchase a £5 ticket to secure your spot.
A percentage of the money collected will be donated to a charity supporting the initial journey of surviving domestic abuse.
Food and drink will be provided during the event.
