Understanding the importance of lateral and critical thinking within the UX and Design communities is integral when creating a safe and empowering space for neurodiverse thinkers to collaborate effectively with their neurotypical peers. In this event, we will acknowledge the competitive advantage that neurodiverse individuals can offer to the world of design. They are consistent, innovative and analytical, possessing thought patterns that assist the development of highly specialised skills.
This inclusive event will detail the practical skills and new perspectives that neurodiverse thinkers offer to the UX community. Opening with ‘UX and Autism- Making the World a Better Place for Everyone’, Sean (DXC Technologies) will highlight his research into the competitive advantages of being an autistic UXer, since being diagnosed. Pip (The Dots) will then follow with 'If we're all the same, how can we think differently?!'; centering on the importance of diversity within teams and ensuring we move forward with equality and equity in mind.
We will culminate the event with a panel, hosted by the awesome Roger of BP and welcoming Benny (Zego Insurance) and Trip (Consultant- ex-Amazon), along with our speakers to share their personal experiences and thoughts from their time in UX and Design, offering key insights to how neurodiversity influences and helps shape our community.
