Fall Foliage Bike Touring the Lehigh River Gorge Trail

Cyclists of all ages have made the Lehigh River Gorge Rail Trail one of this region's favorite and most scenic riding tours.  Whether you are captivated by history, a love of nature, or just looking for a wonderful day of great exercise, this trip offers something for everyone - and at the most spectacular time of year - fall foliage season!   Join us for this ride as we snake our way through the gorge and a mere stone throw from the beautiful Lehigh River.

Please note that you must register and book this trip on the Outdoor Connections website to reserve your spot. See link below ....

The Lehigh Gorge Trail is a multi-use rail trail that winds along the valley of the Lehigh River Gorge from White Haven to Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania.  The trail follows an abandoned railroad corridor along the river.  Prior to the railroad, the Lehigh Canal ran along much of the same route and many of the original stone locks are still intact and visible from the trail.

Not an experienced cyclist?  No worries!  We will be riding on a trail that has a fine crushed stone surface perfect for cycling.  No rocks, no roots, no hills!  This 3 hour tour is roughly 25 miles in length but with a slight downhill grade so we will have an easy and scenic 'downhill' pedal.

As we pedal at our own pace, we will see fantastic rock formations, tumbling waterfalls, and abundant wildlife as we make our way through the gorge and along the river - known for it's whitewater rafting and kayaking.  We will stop along the way and enjoy our lunch at one of the scenic spots on trail.  A shuttle will get us back to the outfitter's center were we can clean up and change before heading back home...with great memories and pics in hand.

This trip includes all transportation costs, bike & helmet rental, continental breakfast, picnic lunch, and guides to lead your day.

All trip details and final trip itinerary will be e-mailed to all registered guests the week of the trip date.
