Algorithms affect almost every aspect of daily life, from self-driving cars to predictive policing to banking to even something as benign as movie recommendations. But, how do we question these systems, how do we think about ethical intervention and ethical standards for algorithms in our daily lives? This talk, with invited speakers Maya Indira Ganesh, Adam Harvey and Caroline Sinders, focuses critically on how to create ethical standards for machine learning, from artistic work examples to analysis of current systems to better ways to work with data.
