Ever wonder how to make your content stand out online? This hands-on workshop is your chance to learn how Canon Creator Teejay Hughes used creativity — not fancy gear or big spaces — to grow his presence on social media, and how you can do the same.
Teejay will walk you through several unique, scroll-stopping sets he’s personally designed to help unlock your creative eye. You’ll learn how to build striking backdrops with everyday materials, experiment with lighting, posing, and camera angles, and transform simple ideas into bold visual stories that shine online.
• Themed shooting bays with professional models, built to inspire content you’ll actually want to post
[1] Veiled in Light: This setup is all about softness, elegance, and tone. Our model will be directly under a diffused overhead light source with sheer fabric draping over it. The fabric will be matched with the model's outfit and backdrop to create a fully monochromatic look. Shoot dreamy, fashion-forward portraits and video clips with gorgeous overhead lighting, fabric movement, and a high-end editorial feel.
[2] Smoke and Mirrors: Creating practical special effects that aren't CGI. Using spotlights, we'll shine them directly at mirrors that well be placed off screen, using a fog machine, photographers will be able to see the beams of lights scattered across the photo surrounding a model with some dramatic makeup.
[3] Dinner is SERVE-ed: Forget food — she IS the centerpiece. This whimsical set is where fashion meets fantasy, placing the model at the heart of a dinner scene as the table itself. Styled like an upscale Parisian dinner party, this set blurs the line between fashion and décor, giving you the perfect setup for surreal, attention grabbing shots (and maybe a few gasps on the 'gram).
[4] La Dolce Vita: An ode to vintage glam and Philly’s own cobblestone streets. Inspired by Audrey Hepburn, Amalfi, and the golden age of travel, you'll drop into an Italian daydream with our model.
[5] Self Portrait: This is your moment, framed your way. Simply insert your SD card, and we’ll have the Canon Camera Connect app ready for you to capture your own shot, solo. A rare chance to step in front of the lens — and still be the one calling the shots.
