Hear Matthew Fox, world-renowned spiritual theologian, sacred activist and creator of the Cosmic Mass, as he explores questions raised in his latest book: "Naming the Unnameable: 89 Wonderful and Useful Names for God...Including the Unnameable God." In this workshop, you will be challenged to ask yourself: • What archetypes rising today allow you to access the Sacred? • What names for the Divine can most readily stir you at this time in history to wake up, let go, give birth, and work generously, diligently, courageously for the survival of our species and of our planet? • What links the wisdom of the young to the wisdom of the old and of our ancestors, while opening your heart and mind to serve future generations with joy and steadfastness? • What archetypes most empower you to move from lack of energy to effective caring and action? From despair or cynicism to hope-filled service? The workshop takes place in the Sanctuary, is open to everyone, and registration is not required. Admission is $25, payable at the door or in advance by clicking the "Buy Now" button at https://www.unityofwalnutcreek.org/naming-the-unnameable Matthew Fox will also be the guest speaker that morning at Unity's 9:30 and 11:30 services. "Born in the wonderment of our earliest human ancestors, rooted in ancient Judeo-Christian tradition, supported by leading-edge science, and bearing witness for social, environmental, and gender justice." This is the work of Matthew Fox, Episcopal priest, author of 37 books, founder of the University of Creation Spirituality, and believer that “by reinventing work, education and worship we can bring about a non-violent revolution on our planet.” If you've seen and heard him before, experience him again at Unity of Walnut Creek (https://www.unityofwalnutcreek.org/). It is a vibrant and open community that offers a positive path for spiritual living through teachings that are relevant, practical, inspiring and are drawn from metaphysical interpretations of the Bible, Gnostic Gospels and other sacred scriptures, plus poetry, mysticism, nature and heart-centered stories.
Using the techniques of non-violent communication, practice speaking from the heart to each other, without blame or judgment. Coached by leader Newt Bailey, you will participate in using real-life examples to role play and share observations, feelings, needs and requests. Learn to listen intuitively to each other to explore underlying universal needs and gain understanding of how to create win-win situations for all. This group meets every Monday morning. Freewill donation gratefully appreciated. For more about Unity, go to www.unityofwalnutcreek.org (http://www.unityofwalnutcreek.org/)
Connect with other seniors in this book study class, and discuss the works of deeply spiritual wisdom teachers. In the group, you will explore the timeless inspiration of these writings, be enriched by their practical guidance, draw from them your own wisdom, and gain insights from others in the group. "Shattered Into Being" by Anastasia Jayet is the current book being discussed. This book may be purchased in Unity's online bookstore (http://www.unityofwalnutcreek.org/online-bookstore) in the Books We Love category. Your discussion leader is Hope Ford. Drop-ins are welcome. Discover how certain combinations of energies can benefit physical, emotional and spiritual well being. Experience harmonies of sound, light and crystals as they are used to positively affect your brain and consciousness. This is a four-week, Monday night course that ends on April 8. A follow-up and extension of the spring 2018 class, this course will briefly review material from last year and then more deeply explore new modalities using crystals, light and sound that can send health-enhancing pulses to chakras and acupuncture meridians. You will also learn how to build your own amplified crystal Accuphotonics tools (for the same beneficial effects as acupuncture). Your instructor is Dr. John Shinn (Ph.D. Engineering, UC Berkeley). He is a musician and performer/composer of spiritual music, a metaphysical healing practitioner, and a scientist. He has worked with crystals since childhood, and has performed spiritual music throughout the Bay Area for many decades. John has contributed to planetary healing through sustainable development and greenhouse gas management work, and has extensively studied and worked with the physics and healing attributes of sound and crystals. The course takes place in the Sanctuary, is open to everyone, and registration is not required. Drop-ins are welcome. Classes are offered on a free-will donation basis ($10 to $20 per class suggested).
