SUMMER DRAWS TO A CLOSE... and yet... something continental remains in the air! Is this? Could it be? Bravissimo! ITALIAN DUUG IS HERE!

The Dublin Unity User Group RETURNS this Wednesday, the 28th of September from 6.15-9.45pm!

DUUG is happy to announce that the upcoming Italian DUUG will be taking place at the Dogpatch Labs URBAN GARDEN (still inside the CHQ, no change there!). This awesome new space overlooks the CHQ mall and has tons of room for us to make presentations, test games and, perhaps, engage in a little Fußball. =) (See accompanying images for a glimpse of the Garden!)

Map here (https://goo.gl/maps/mvQZNj2buNE2). Website here (http://dogpatchlabs.com/) (scry our venue using an uncanny technomancy we call... THE INTERNET!). Use HitTheRoad.ie if you're using public transport. Parking here (http://www.parkrite.ie/carparks/ifsc).

Places are limited to 50 - so RSVP early, and un-RSVP if you find you can't make it! Be mindful of your fellow DUUGers...

ITALIAN DUUG, so-called because we have the pleasure of presenting excellent talks by two expats from the country of Ezio, Opera, Pizza and PASSION!

At 8.00pm, DUUG founder Alessandro Orlandi will talk about his experience using GPS with Augmented Reality in Unity, recreating the Roman city of Aquileia and allowing tourists to use their devices as windows THROUGH TIME! If you're interested in AR and GPS-based games (and at the moment, who isn't? =), Presentation B is one you do not want to miss.

Stick around for our playtesting session and 5-minute open mics! There's plenty of time to hang out, have some fun and maybe find an answer to that Unity problem that's been driving you a wee bit mad. We've all been there.

If you're bringing a project to playtest/show at DUUG, we encourage you to consider adding a scoreboard to the project! There's nothing like a little friendly competition to get people queuing up to take another crack at your game...! (And if you'd like some basic scoreboard code to get started, feel free to ask the DUUG organisers on the day!)

We're very interested in hearing what you guys would like us to cover and what guests we should invite over the next few months! We're especially interested in hearing what you'd like us to do with the Tutorial Club! Drop us a line via Meetup or gently scream your thoughts into our ears at the Dublin Unity User Group!

What's that I hear? An 80's movie quote?

Conan (noted Unity fanatic) can only be talking about this tutorial: https://unity3d.com/learn/tutorials/topics/scripting/object-pooling

RSVP, ASAP! We'll see you there!
