Enlightened Laughter: Rev. Peter Boullata
Enlightened Laughter Rev. Peter Boullata What place does joy and hilarity have in our spiritual lives? How does humour reflect our worldview and relationship with life? In this darkest time of the year, we create and celebrate traditions of festivity; let’s explore the role festivity plays in a robust spiritual life. NOTE: Everyone is invited to a Carol sing after the service. General Information about Sunday Services Our Sunday Service meets year-round at 10:45am and is central to our religious life and community. We draw on a variety of sources and traditions, and address themes ranging from social concerns to spiritual growth. Our services have many common elements including music and congregational singing, spoken and silent meditation, the sharing of joys and concerns, and a Time for All Ages for our children. Services can vary from week to week and may include a sermon from our minister or a member of the congregation, or a presentation from a guest speaker from the larger community. Some services may include discussion and small group activities. There are also a number of Whole Church Services each year when all ages can participate together. Folks are invited to stay for refreshments following the service when they can mingle and get to know one another better. Children's Religious Exploration Programming Programming for children aged 0-16 runs concurrently to our Adult Services during the September to June church year. When we have a Whole Church Service (approximately once a month) Children aged 6 and up attend with their parents. Childcare is available for younger children during these times.

What we're about

We are a warm, caring Unitarian Universalist congregation that appreciates diversity, values intellectual curiosity, knows how to have fun, and seeks to honour and preserve the world and all its inhabitants. We gather in a community to celebrate the beauty and mystery of life in this world, and support one another as we face life’s challenges. While we share and affirm Unitarian Universalist Principles, we believe that each person walks their own path in search of truth and meaning and requires the freedom to follow it. We are an open-minded and pluralistic community of free thinkers that includes and welcomes those from many faith traditions, doubters, seekers, and atheists. We strive as a community to act with integrity, courage, and purpose.
