What we're about

We are a group of people who meet regularly in Uptown Manhattan to play board/tabletop games. We enjoy playing all sorts of games, from gateway games like Carcassonne to medium/heavyweight games like Through the Ages. We'd like to welcome anyone: people who are new to the tabletop world, people who are well versed and could teach us a thing or two, and anyone else who thinks they would enjoy this hobby/pastime/social-platform; our only request is that you have good sportsmanship and are tolerant of persons of all walks of life (because this hobby attracts a diverse crowd!).

Also, please check out our Discord channel to chat about games and other relevant topics of conversation:

Board Games at Whole Foods (Upper West Side)

Whole Foods Market

Join the Uptown Gamers every other Sunday for tabletop games at the Whole Foods dining area on the Upper West Side (Located on the corner of 97th st. and Columbus Ave.). They have excellent tables, great lighting, and minimal noise - perfect for our gaming needs! So bring a game or join in on one. Lets have a little fun before the work week starts. Games we generally like to bring and play are Jamaica, Resistance Avalon, King of Tokyo, 7 Wonders, Manhattan Project etc... Hope to see you there! Comment and let us know what you'll be bringing or would like to join in on!

Tuesday Night Gaming at Hex & Co.

Hex & Company

Join us for a weekly Tuesday night board game night at Hex & Co, the board game cafe in Morningside Heights. The price is $10 per person, $5 with a valid student ID We get about 2-4 tables per week. As such, there can be a limit to the number of players we can accommodate. If there is sufficient space, others will be welcome to join. **** Please try to keep your RSVPs accurate and change your RSVP if you realize you won't be able to make it - it allows people on the waitlist to attend, and allows us to give a more accurate number to the cafe of how many people we will be expecting. **** When you pay the $10 fee, tell the cashier that you're with the board gaming meetup. They'll direct you to our table. Also, please arrive on time. If we don't use all of the tables they reserve for us, they'll free up what we don't use for other guests to use, and there might not be room at the tables we have. Also, if you arrive late, everyone else may already be in a game. Sometimes some of us arrive earlier than 7. If you want to game before then, post a comment and see if anyone else will be arriving early We've tended to play more mid-weight Eurogames, but we're open to playing a variety of games (provided there's interest and someone knows the game well enough to teach it). Just to give an idea for the kind of games we've played: Sheriff of Nottingham, Witness, Seven Wonders, Penny Press, Concordia, Deep Sea Adventure, Mr Jack, The Expanse Board Game, Betrayal at Baldur's Gate, Telestrations, Sonar, Libertalia, Mascarade, Magic Maze, Sagrada, Favor of the Pharaoh, Great Western Trail, The Thing: Infection at Outpost 31, Specter Ops, Battle for Rokugan, Clank In Space!, Photosynthesis, Azul, Bears vs Babies, Small World, Scythe, Impulse, Dinosaur Island, Terraforming Mars, Splendor, 13 Clues, Master Thief, Trains, Smash Up, Roll Through the Ages, Secret Hitler, Trickerion: Legends of Illusion, Kemet, Fury of Dracula and Tzolk'in. Hex & Co has 1000+ games to play and plenty to buy, it has locally-roasted coffee & a wide range of food options. You can check out their website at http://hexnyc.com/ • What to bring $10
