  • Join the Uptown Gamers every other Sunday for tabletop games at the Whole Foods dining area on the Upper West Side (Located on the corner of 97th st. and Columbus Ave.). They have excellent tables, great lighting, and minimal noise - perfect for our gaming needs! So bring a game or join in on one. Lets have a little fun before the work week starts. Games we generally like to bring and play are Jamaica, Resistance Avalon, King of Tokyo, 7 Wonders, Manhattan Project etc... Hope to see you there!

Comment and let us know what you'll be bringing or would like to join in on!

The following is an excerpt from a discussion I've just posted on our Meetup board. Please see that posting for the full message:

...When we host Meetups at businesses, we are first, and foremost, customers. I have no special arrangement with Whole Foods or Peculier Pub (our main Meetup locations). What makes us welcome at these businesses is that we are EACH their customers.

Consider this: I organize this Meetup, and pay the fees (it is not free) with help of some
donations from very kind members. Many of you have the opportunity to play games, without having to purchase said games, and meet some great people. The only thing I ask you to do is maintain the good reputation of our group by ensuring that you patronize the businesses that welcome us (as customers). Please buy something from them, each time you attend, even if you don't necessarily feel hungry/thirsty -consider sharing with others in such a case (it's a great way to make friends!).

Channeling my inner Jason, I'm bringing a freshly unwrapped Last Friday for one slasher and up to five victims, err, campers. This is a new hidden movement and deduction game that is themed to the classic camp slasher film genre. True to its heritage, the game takes place over four acts, each act taking approximately 45m to complete.
