Announcing a new Meetup for Urban Adventures!

What: Agua Caliente Hot Springs Super Soak Camp Out

When: Saturday, March 19,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Aqua Caliente State Park
39555 Great South Stage Route of 1849
Julian, CA 92036

This one should be very special! Agua Caliente County Hot Springs Park is part of the wonderful San Diego County Parks system, and a unique gem. There are two hot spring pools?one indoor and one outdoor, and a cool swimming pool as well. We?ll be soaking in them, enjoying some rustic pampering, and loads of laughs.

We?ll be there the night of the full moon, so we may choose to do the short but exciting Moonlight Trail hike in the evening, and of course we?ll have a bon fire (conditions permitting). The weather at this time of year can vary, but knowing that you can slip into the hot springs in the morning eases that lots! Adult campers also get to use the indoor spa in the evenings, so that?s a nice bonus.

We?ll do a potluck meal on Saturday night, so bring something to share with all. I?ll be doing a huge pot of soup for everyone.

Since we?ll be so close to Julian, I?ll be bringing down a mess of pies and cider donuts for all.

I have secured Sites # 29, 30 and 31, which are right next to each other and have partial hook-ups. Site 30 will be our hang-out spot, so please only place your tents on sites 29 and 31. When you enter the park, let them know that you are with the ?Kennedy Party? in those sites.

Each site only has parking for one vehicle, but there is overflow parking for extra cars close by. It?s close enough to walk, but we can also do a shuttle once folks have set up their tents.

Carpooling is highly recommended, and passengers will share costs with drivers. If you are hoping for a ride or have one to offer, please note where you are coming from in your RSVP.

Since the flake factor has been rising on these trips lately, in order to secure your place, please click "waiting list" in the RSVP. Once I receive payment, I will change your RSVP to Yes.

There will be no refunds unless the event is cancelled.

If you don?t like to use Pay Pal, just contact me via the email organizer option on the meetup site and let me know your check is coming and I will add you to the ?Yes? list.

Click on the link below to pay $20 for camping, firewood, pies and morning coffee and donuts.

There are many adventures to be had nearby, including the unique town of Borrego Springs, which has some nice shops and restaurants. Agua Caliente Park is located on the historic stage coach route, and just a little ways up the road is the Vallecito County Park, which was part of the stage line. The Anza Borrego Desert State Park is also beautiful, and has a terrific visitor center and a variety of trails.

On our way back to L.A. on Sunday we?ll be heading up to Julian to explore the vintage trailers of Pinecrest park and to check out the picturesque town for lunch

Here?s the link to the park?

With any luck the wildflowers will be starting to bloom for us. At the very least, you know we will be blossoming with all the splendor and fun we?ll be having!
