What would you most like to learn from this group?

This is a new idea for me.. being prepared. LOL. I guess that is different for different people. As I learn more, I'm sure what I am thinking about now, will change. So realliy, I'm looking for basics and ideas to get started.

Why is emergency preparedness important to you

There are all kinds of emergencies, what would be the most likely? Well, a flat tire but, I have a new to be truck that, I'm not even sure there is a jack, I don't have a good flashlight in the vehicle. So it's the little things to start with but, as a kidd, I remember we were without power for 9 days after a big snow storm. Funny that I don't remember it being all that bad. We had a floor furance, so the house was warm, and I remember going out to a snow drift to get the milk. I guess we were in good shape. If that happened to me today, I would not be ready.

Introduction

Kent here. I'm just starting to think more and more about being prepared so just looking for a place to start.
