Behavioral Economics is a subset of Behavioral Science that deals with how humans make choices when presented with options. In this talk, behavioral economist Guthrie Weinschenk shares research in behavioral economics that is of particular interest to user experience design.

The more you know about how people decide and choose, the better you can predict how people will use your products and services. Guthrie has picked his 5 favorite takeaways about humans that you can use in your UX work.

Guthrie Weinschenk is a Behavioral Economist and the COO of The Team W, Inc ( He has a degree in Economics, a law degree, and is a licensed attorney. He consults on Behavioral Science and Behavioral Economics, teaches workshops and gives keynote speeches at business and design conferences.

Guthrie is the author of “I Love You, Now Read This Book (It’s About Human Decision Making And Behavioral Economics)” and is the host of the Human Tech podcast.”
