What we're about

VA Sistagirls (VASG) was started in 2007 as a Yahoogroup. We became a meetup group in 2009. VASG is a group for women of color who live, work, play and/or are raising families in Northern Virginia. Our goal is to connect with other sistagirls looking to make new friends, hang out and talk about life as we know it. This group has been a blessing to me and many others.

2020 VA Sistagirl Focus

For 2020, VA Sistagirls will be combining efforts with Dear Brown Girls. Dear Brown Girls, created by the organizer of VA Sistagirls, facilitates experiences and events that help us embrace the power of our wonderful sistahood. Dear Brown Girls will take the conversations and energy that VASG has brought to the table over the last ten years and level up our social engagement. So, if you see an event posted/hosted by Dear Brown Girls...it's all love. RSVP and join the fun.

VA Sistagirl Membership

If you are a member of LOTS of similar meetups, your membership may not be approved. We are looking for active members. Being a member of multiple meetups may not allow you to be an active member of VA Sistagirls.

Starting in 2020, when approved, please make a $10.00 annual membership fee via the CHIP IN option. This will helps cover the cost of the meetup and other administrative things that happen in the background. For those who have been a member of the VASG family, it's worth the fee.

Do your part to make this a great group.
