What's Happening:
This month is all about some buzzwords - AI, IOT & APIs - and showing how they relate to Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. We're going to explain what they are, how they work, and why they're important. These are the technologies that will integrate and drive new advancements in AR & VR. Most importantly, we're here to answer your questions.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is important to many aspects of VR & AR, from game engines to voice and image recognition. Internet of Things (IOT) refers to physical devices that collect data and transmit to the internet (it's almost like AR and VR in reverse, where digital information interacts with the physical and virtual world). Web API's (application programming interfaces) are the engines that drive it all. They are the logic engines and provide the data that allow websites, mobile apps and connected devices to communicate.
What's The Format:
We start with informal networking, then host a panel discussion to answer audience questions, and we end with more networking and technology demonstrations. The conversation will start with a primary topic, but ultimately take us wherever it goes. We keep it simple and informal - this meetup is about you, our members, and not the host or presenters.
6:00-6:30 - Informal networking and introductions.
6:30-7:00 - Panel members will introduce themselves and describe their experience.
7:00-7:30 - Open discussion and Q&A.
7:30-??? - We may wrap up the panel and return to informal networking and demonstrations, or if the conversation is flowing, it may continue. This is all up to you.
