Talk Curatours: Arts, Culture and Heritage in the ‘Metaverse’ — Simon Barratt, CEO Cooperative Innovations

Curatours is a Metaverse platform built for museums, galleries, cultural destination and much more besides.

Cooperative Innovations have been building virtual worlds and the tools/technologies to create them since 2016.

Simon Barratt will give us a whistle-stop tour of Curatours, talking about the challenges and opportunities they have faced to release an immersive experience in an increasingly competitive marketplace. He’ll also introduce us to the Museum of Plastic 2121, a place built 100 years from now in an imagined future where things have worked out well for both the planet and humanity.

About Simon

As well as being a long time VR Manchester attendee, Simon Barratt is the CEO and co-founder of Cooperative Innovations, an immersive technology studio driven by a nerdy excitement and passion for cooperative social experiences. As well as Curatours, he has also led the creation of Spaceteam VR, Raiders of Erda (which he talked about at VR Manchester back in 2017!), a real-time music video for Sony Music artist Tate McRae, a VR storytelling platform for children, a virtual Queen Vic and several (sadly confidential) enterprise VR applications
