Hey Pune Cloud and Technology Enthusiasts,
We are pleased to announce the OpenStack Upstream Training day event on 16th August 2019.
## Venue Details:
Software Laboratory 2, Department of Computer Engineering, Building-A 2nd Floor, D.Y Patil COE, Akurdi Pune.
Attendees are encouraged to bring wifi-enabled Laptops/Notebooks for the ability to work with VM images using any virtualized platform on Windows, Linux Mac book etc.
This would be free and open to all! We will start with an introduction to OpenStack and Open Infrastructure that enables and drives various Private and Public Cloud Globally. This is an opportunity get into using, learning to develop for Cloud Platform and Applications. Even if you have not worked on Google Cloud, AWS or Azure, this gives you an initiation to be DevOps and how the leading OpenStack Cloud and Open Infrastructure brings the ability to work as a developer and contribute to Open Source.

10:30 to 10:45 AM OSUG, OTF and Upstream Training Day Introduction
10:45 AM to 11:30 AM OpenSource Journey - Learnings and Experience by Kiran Diwekar
11:30 AM to 11:45 AM Tea Break
11:45 AM to 1:30 PM First Half of the Training (Why Upstream Training, Accounts Creation, SSH keys setup, Making Sure all the attendees have the setup done)
1:30 PM to 2:15 PM Lunch
2:15 PM 4:15 PM Second Half (Actual contribution workflow, and first patch submission)
4:15 to 4:30 Quizzes and Q&A
4:30 Event officially complete, Announcements and Networking
P.S Having your own Laptop with pre-installed Ubuntu or any other Distribution is good to have but not Mandatory. You can have your pre-training tasks as explained in the below Wiki page complete and come for the event.
For the attendees who don’t have GNU/Linux deployments, we can have sandbox environments created on behalf of you. Kindly make sure to submit your details in below Google Form before the 16th of August:
The initiative is to help newcomers to start their contributions upstream.
We have awesome Mentors from the upstream community to help you start your contributions to the OpenSource. Which also includes the basics of establishing an opendev.org account, ssh, using tools & utilities like git, Gerrit, git review, patch submission, Jira, launchpad etc. will be covered. Some of them will be able to establish py3 venv to be able to test code as part of homework or on-site depending on time. We will strive to build groups of coach and students to enable interactive sessions, besides working through a contributory guide.
