Caves of San José & Vilafamés

Details
##### The Caves of San José are a popular tourist attraction located in the province of Castellón, Spain. These caves are known for their stunning natural beauty and fascinating geological formations, making them a must-visit destination for travellers.
##### The San José Caves are situated in the Vall d’Uixó, a picturesque valley in the eastern part of Spain. The caves themselves are over 2,750 meters long, with a depth of around 30 meters. The highlight of the caves is undoubtedly the breathtaking Stalactite Hall, where visitors can marvel at the impressive stalactites and stalagmites that have formed over thousands of years.
##### A 2,5km long underground river of San José with rocky landscapes maintains a temperature of + 20 degrees Celsius and is considered the longest navigable underground river in Europe. The Caves, which sometimes are called “the heart of the earth” are full of stalactites and stalagmites that you can enjoy during the boat ride as well as some cave drawings left centuries ago. After some reconstructions and light installation in the 1920s, the route became more open to tourists and much safer.
##### A unique place to visit for sure!
