Afton Canyon Camp-n-Ride

Details
I will be hosting a Camp-n-Ride at Afton Canyon. Known as "The Grand Canyon of the Mojave" this is the only place where the Mojave River flows above ground year-round.
The Campsite has been moved to Basin Road Exit off Interstate 15 at which is several miles East of the Afton Road Exit. Turn right off the freeway and process 3/4 mile down a hard pack gravel road. You will see my Super C on the left.
This campsite is pretty flat and should be large enough to handle all our rigs. Some sections are soft so I suggest getting out and plan your route to the spot you want to camp.
I will be camping Thursday - Sunday but only leading rides on Friday and Saturday.
Friday Ride
Because of the change in the campsite, we will be running it backwards from my original route. Round trip is about 90 miles.
Sites we will visit include:
- The Mojave Megaphone
- The Triangles
- Pisgah Lava Fields
Saturday RIde
We will also run this ride backwards from the original route.
I expect the round trip will be about 90 miles.
Sites we will visit include:
- The Mojave River Water Crossing
- Spooky Canyon
- The Cliffs
- A Buried Boxcar
- Borax Mine
- Grave Site
Actual route lengths, campsite coordinates and more details will be added over the next few weeks.
