New This Year! We have changed the location of our 3rd Annual Brian Kovalsky Memorial Paddle to Lake Perris so all VWKC members can paddle whatever kayak they’d like to. For years, this event was held at Lake Skinner; however, they will only allow sit-in-side kayaks and many of our members paddle sit-on-top kayaks these days. Come on Sat, June 8, for the 9:30 am paddle & stay for the 4 pm Chili Cook-off or come Friday and camp for the weekend too! The lake is full for the first time in years and is beautiful!

Kayaking & Entry info:
Club paddle on Saturday, June 8 at 9:30 am. Meet at Sail Cove on the northwest side of Lake Perris. Daily cost to get in the park is only $10 per vehicle. This includes occupants and kayaks. If you are 62 or older, you can buy a yearly pass for $20. Your kayak will be inspected for quagga mussels at the entry to Lake Perris. We will launch our kayaks and paddle around the east side the lake to the south side where we will cross over to the island. We will land on the northwest side of the island, have a picnic lunch, swim and participate in some fun kayak games! Then we’ll paddle back and head over to the Chili Cookoff area.

Chili-Cook-off info:
4 pm Saturday, June 8 - Chili Cook-off in Deer Campground Sites 221 & 222. These sites are full hook up sites and you can plug in your chili there before the paddle. Tell them at the Camping Kiosk you are visiting site 221 or 222 and pay a $10 fee to park or you can drop off your items and park in Lot 9 nearby. Enter the Chili Cook-off contest with your favorite homemade chili or sign up to bring chili fixin’s, salad or desserts. Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place!
