I've been informed the room we are using for the meeting has a fire code limit of 50 people so we need to get a better handle on RSVPs. It has been proposed that a nominal fee ($1) be charged so that people would be less likely to RSVP on a whim and would take more time in considering if they would actually attend. I'm hoping I won't have to put this in place. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to refund the fee to those that honoured their RSVP and attended because of the paypal fees would eat %33 of the RSVP fee.
For the next meetup I'm going to place the RSVP limit at 50, reflecting our actual capacity, and hope that people will honour their RSVPs, or change their answer to no as soon as they know they can no longer attend to allow someone from the wait list a chance to attend.
