What we're about

This group is dedicated to gaining a deeper knowledge about the native flora of our region, in order to truly experience the beauty and thrill of the wilderness, and establish a more active connection with our natural surroundings.

We welcome anyone who wishes to learn more about wild plants and hone their plant identification skills.

Our goal is to learn to identify plants that can be of use for foraging, medicinal, or survival purposes.

We will periodically organize group hikes in nearby parks for the purpose of learning to identify and understand the plants we see around us in parks and in urban areas.

This group will also be a place for sharing knowledge about the skills needed to survive and thrive in the wild, otherwise known as bushcraft - the art of making use of the resources in our natural surroundings.

Disclaimer: All information provided here or during events is for information and education purposes only. Never consume any wild plants unless you know exactly what you are doing, or have consulted with an expert, which I make no claim to be. Members must take responsibility for their own safety.

Due to excessive no-shows, as of 7/19/2021 there is a 3-strike policy: You are removed from the group after 3 no-shows or same-day cancelations.
